Joe Update

Joe is in 8th grade.  He loves Science and is considering an engineering career.  In February, we will visit his high school - Central High School and see what their curriculum looks like.  They have a specific STEM pathway that could be real good.  STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

In November he received an Alpine Bank Student of the Month Award which comes with a renewable 500.00 scholarship to our local college Colorado Mesa University.

His Literacy teacher asked him to enter a contest called The Patriot's Pen.  He had to write a 400 word essay on What Does Patriotism Mean to Me?  He won first place in the local competition and received a check for 200.00.  He moved on to the district level and we understand he won something there also.  That award luncheon is in February.  Here is a photo of him receiving his 200.00 check at the assembly at school.

He also played 8th grade basketball and he plays the saxophone and the flute.  Got to run to a movie now so that's it for now.
