Sunday was a Way Corps Face to Face in Colorado Springs. Since we were going into a two week school break, we felt like we could be gone the whole weekend and still bounce back on Monday. We left Joe with a friend and took Ben with us and started driving at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning. The weather was wet and rainy up until Eagle and then it was snowing. We stopped at a Wendys in Eagle for lunch and someone who was traveling West told us that cars were spinning off the road all over the place. We switched drivers and Dave took the wheel. We drove a little and counted 4 cars off the road and then we came to a standstill. We did not move for 2 1/2 hours. 2 miles behind us they had closed the highway, but we were already on the highway. This is one reason I do not drink hardly any liquids while traveling to Denver. I have a couple of photos to show this standstill. One guy was even out walking his dog.
