T Minus 9 Days to Alaska

Our lives are very full these days which seems to be the case in May as school comes to a close.  Jessica has finished her junior year at Colorado School of Mines.  Today she is running a half-marathon in Colfax, Colorado and part of the race takes her through the Denver zoo.  Her roommate just graduated from CSM and their lease is up July 31.  Jessica is going to live in the sorority house next year and she can move some things over there this weekend.  After all of that she is coming home for a week to be with us and we are excited to have her home.  In fact I told Ben last night that Jessica would be home tonight.  And he was excited and said, "I didn't know that."

Joe has one more week of school (3 days to be exact.)  He is off on Monday as his school graduates on Monday so there is no school.  He has finished his first three AP Tests.  He took AP Biology, AP Statistics, and AP Human Geography.  The scores for those come out later in the summer.

Ben actually has two more weeks of school but is being released one week early to join us on the cruise.  He has SOOOO much homework to get done this weekend, it's crazy.  So I'm staying on top of that with him as well as trying to get through the mounds of work piling up on my desk as well as getting the weekly shopping done and thinking through all the layers of clothing we will need in Alaska.  I'm just taking it one step at a time at the moment.

Dave and Joe are headed to Gunnison today for the Pentecost celebration.  Ben and I are staying back and working on the things in the preceding paragraph.

My most recent weigh in (last Monday) had me at 40 pounds lighter than the day I started (Jan 18).  I've been steadily losing 2 pounds a week, but I don't know if that will be the case tomorrow as my trainer has cut back on my schedule some so that I can rest my knee and help it heal.  I want to be able to do the running and jumping, so I want it to heal.  I have more swimming times built in for cardio as swimming does not hurt it at all.  But swimming is HARD, but worth it.

Joe's follow up appointment for the headaches is on Wednesday.  The medicine seems to be helping but I'll know for sure when I hear him talk to the doctor.
