Not sure why I stopped blogging. Crazy it's been more than a year. We had a Way Corps face to face meeting this past Sunday (today is Tuesday). It was nice as they all came to Idaho Springs, which made our drive 3.5 hours instead of 5.5 hours. Keith Toresdahl and I taught. Keith taught on stedfastness which was awesome. He talked about Paul and Barnabas and the split and how nothing bad was said about Barnabas and then Mark? came into the ministry. I'm rusty on the record, but Keith and Christine were lifelong friends with the W's and this has been tough on them. But they (Toresdahls) are standing with the ministry which was evident by Keith's teaching. He did a great job. None of us want to talk bad about the W's because we all love them. We took a short break and then I taught on We want to love people, not fix them. I was so nervous going into teaching but it came off well. I don't teach that much anymore and I should because I really enjoy it. Need to fill myself with more of the Word daily so that teaching comes a little more naturally. One of the incidents I shared was when Rosalie asked Debra, Polly, and I to write a Way Magazine article. It was like the first week of our new assignment in Way Publications. We thought she was crazy, but she knew we could do it. I pulled out the article from the 1990 Way magazine. It was 19 years and growing strong or something like that about the WOW program. You would have thought the article was going to be 5 pages long for all the blood, sweat, and tears we put into it and it was barely a page and a half and full of quotes at that.
Us doing that article really showed her our longsuits and that was how I ended up as the traffic controller aka peace keeper. Polly really was good at research and Debra was an excellent editor. It was fun thinking back. I'm in a better frame of mind then I was a year ago and if there was another opportunity for the give and share, I might take it on. But at the time we were just being asked to do way too much for me to consider it. Even today we are the only Way Corps in the State with young children. The Carters have one still in high school, the others in college. But it's a lot when raising children to take on a lot more.
This week Joe is at "Engineering World" camp at the John McConnell Math and Science Center in Grand Junction. Today they are learning about hydraulics and a robotic arm. He took Engineering 101 last summer, so this is the next class you can take. He loves it. He still gets occasional headaches and had one when I picked him up yesterday, so we are still trying to get on top of that. I will work at his school next year which is a win/win for both of us.
Ben is a master at his computer game called Roblox. Still trying to hook him up with someone with programming skills. He would soar at that.
Jessica has the championship swim meet this weekend and then she's off of swimming for a month which we will work on getting her shoulders strong again. During this time she is going to New Jersey/New York with Ramona. They will see Matthew and Angie, Ryan and Stephanie, and the Sparks.
I go to CA on Saturday and that will be fun also.
Enough for today. Back to paying bills.
Patty
