Betty Fisher - George Bailey has nothing on you.

When you think about it, Susie is the one who invited Donna to fellowship. Donna eventually led us to the ministry where Mary, Teresa, Patty, and Lisa met their husbands. So our lives have been profoundly impacted by their lives.

Susie Stender and two of her boys handled the celebration of life and they did a great job. One of the son in laws sang a song and Joe Fisher sang a song that he had written. There were sharings and Mom did a sharing and one of the Dieter girls shared.

Betty lived a rich, full life. Max's brother Garl was there and they used to live on Penn Avenue up until 1960. Garl was a very handsome man and I thought hmmm I wonder if this would have been what Max would have looked like. Don (Betty's husband) is an absolutely wonderful man. I feel like I missed out not knowing him and her together. He was truly heart-broken and I'll definitely be keeping him in my prayers. Max and Betty made an impact on my life because they were my godparents and because they loved dad and mom. Joe Fisher pulled Lisa aside and told her that our dad (Don Lombardi) had gone to Joe's college graduation. Our dad had made a point of telling Joe that he was at the college graduation because Max couldn't be.

I love hearing about dad from other people. You forget he impacted others lives and I have never really thought much about me and the peanut incident and the impact that had on others lives. But the Dieter girls said "That made a big, big impact on our lives. Never underestimate that." And Garl's wife Bonnie was almost in tears to know that I was alive and well. She remembers like it was yesterday the prayers that were prayed.

This morning we are going to visit with a San Leandro swim coach, Donald Hickling. I was 17 and he was like 19 or 20 when he was my coach, but he asked to visit with us and he lives in San Leandro, so we are eating breakfast together. Later today we will go to Nancy McGregor's house and Chris Armijo will be there too. Nancy's daughter Suzy will be making supper for us.

It truly is a wonderful life. Clarence: Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?
