Perspective - that's an interesting topic. In the case of the recent money fraud, AH - did he think he was right? His best friend BM thought anyone who wanted their money back was just a greedy f***. His mom thinks we all begged him to take our money. We think we gave him our money because he showed us with monthly and quarterly statements that we were making 8 to 9 % gains. When it was all said and done we got revised statements stating we were losing money from the beginning. Would anyone had begged AH to take their money if they knew they were losing money from the beginning? I kind of doubt it. No I seriously doubt it.
Al Capone said "I have spent the best years of my life giving people the lighter pleasures, helping them have a good time and all I get is abuse, the existence of a hunted man." That's Al Capone speaking. Yes. America's most notorious Public Enemy -- the most sinister gang leader who ever shot up Chicago. Capone didn't condemn himself. He actually regarded himself as a public benefactor--an unappreciated and misunderstood public benefactor. (How to Win Friends and Influence People pg. 4)
Perspective -- I think of it again with the Dolphins team merging with Colorado Mesa University (aka Mesa State University). The coaches started out believing it was a great thing to do and were all for it. But now that they were not hired, their perspective has changed. One is sure that a certain board member had it in for them from the beginning and set this all in motion. One is sad to see it all end as they gave their heart and soul for 20+ years. Me - I'm happy for a change and excited for what's to come.
Are we born with our glass half full/glass half empty perspectives? I don't know. It seems as though with the truth, there is probably going to be your side of the story, my side of the story, and the truth somewhere in between. Just interesting to me to think about today - perspective.
Maybe tomorrow I won't be thinking so deeply.
