FNC Class

So we did it!  We have six students registered for the Foundational Class on The Way of Abundance and Power.  We have not run a class here in Grand Junction since 2009 and I, personally have not had the class since our years at Gunnison or before.  At least 11 years have gone by since I've heard the class.  It's difficult to be excited about a class when you haven't heard it for 11 years.  I'm not sure I am conveying that correctly.  I am VERY excited we are running a class, but for me to go out and win someone - that's where it's more difficult.  I knew and really still know PFAL inside and out and I could sign 7 people up tomorrow for that class.  So that's where I need to get with this class and it's a great start because I actually get to sit through it with Joe and Ben.

I think I wrote about our Family Reunion and our family fellowship on Sunday morning.  Ramona had asked us all to set a goal and then picture how our life would be different once we met that goal.  It was availabe to share that goal and I did.  Mine was to get an October class together so Joe could hear the class before going into surgery in December.  Joe has been registerd for almost three years now and now he will get to hear the Word as it pertains to life.

I believe there are many avenues that contributed to our success in getting this together.  Because we are on leave of absence we have not had weekly calls, we were not responsible for the annual calendar (which is done in September), we were not responsible to run the Fellowship coordinator training (also run in September).  We had A LOT more available time.  I best explain it like this.  We have "X" amount of time to put towards the ministry.  In the past "X" was taken up with phone calls, planning, scheduling, running seminars, etc.  Since March, "X" has been spent getting healthy, losing weight, and speaking the Word.  There have been four people interested for a few months.  Others wanted to go out and "win" more - setting up displays at Farmer's Markets.  I agree that is a good idea, but I could not justify spending my "X" amount of time making display boards, printing photos, applying for the site, paying for the site, making sure we have the tables and chairs and materials.  I wanted to spend my "X" amount of time signing up those who were already interested.

I talked to my leadership David L and got some ideas for one of the ladies.  She wanted to take it but was going to wait until she got a job to "pay."  I always have postcards that need to be sent, so I spoke to her and explained if she did some work for me, I would pay the registration fee.  That got the ball rolling.  I gave her work, she signed the card.  Two days later Dave got two registered from another gentleman in the fellowship.  Three days later, the lady I gave work to had the money for her husband to sign up.  Boom!

Also right after the woman and I made the agreement about her working for me, she got a job.  She had been trying for months.  God honored her commitment.  There are others who did do the Famers Market and had a great time doing so.  No one new from that yet, but perhaps they will continue that next year.

Our class will begin on a Wednesday, October 22 and run for three weeks.  Keep us in your prayers as we fill our lives up with the Word.

  2. I hadn't been checking your blog lately so didn't know about all these awesome posts. Especially this latest! David Lippold told me about the class yesterday. He is so blessed, and so am I. Awesome, Patty. Great believing! I am so glad you came to the reunion. It was awesome to see you and geo-cache with you. Believing for tremendous victory for Joe and for your family to have a sweet time in the Word together in the class. I love you.
