OUCH! I just wrote our 4th quarter estimated tax checks and put them in the mail! I'd say we have to be in the 40% or higher tax bracket. You can see why we would really like some sort of flat tax rate - 15% would be great. I used to balk at making more money because the IRS just takes more money, but our CPA helped me to change my mind last year. He said "It's okay to make more money. That means you are doing good. Yes some more of it does go to the IRS, but you end up with a little more too." True. I used to look for "expenses" to help with the taxes. He (the Accountant) said, "You can write me a check. I'll be an expense." I saw how silly that was and just resigned myself to paying more taxes.
People think because of our income level, we are SOOOOOOO rich. Hahahahahahahahaha. Think about this. If $50,000 goes to taxes and $32,000 goes to health insurance and medical needs - how much is left? Oh well, sorry for the rant. We are truly blessed. We are able to pay for college instead of taking out loans for college and that will benefit our children for the rest of their lives.
Enough!
Today I went to the gym and made a plan for the 12 week challenge which I am going to start on Monday. I have my food plan and my workout plan. Then I stayed and did an hour with the trainer with my great friend, Marivel. Then I came home to get the tax payment in the mail. At 11:30 a.m. I had a phone call with HOUZZ and he helped me get more photos up on our HOUZZ site. I need to send him some names of customers that he can contact and ask for a review of our company. Here is our HOUZZ profile. http://www.houzz.com/pro/ambassadorblindnshutter/ambassador-blind-n-shutter
We will see if that link works for you. It may be my back door sign in that I just gave you. Obviously I have a lot to learn with all these social media sites.
At 4:00 p.m. we are going to the ribbon cutting for Tomlinson Library at our local college. This was a big job we had this summer. This job has the solar trac system where you place radiometers on the roof and tie them in to the computer system with the shades. Then as the radiometers project the placement of the sun in the sky, the shades go up or down accordingly. It's a very slick system, and Dave did a great job installing it. I'll get some photos today and put them up tomorrow.
FCI Constructors won the bid for the new School of Mines building going up. We bid on the window coverings for that job and turned our bid in to 4 contractors. FCI is who we do a LOT of work for and who we did the Tomlinson Library for, so we are believing to be awarded the contract for that job at School of Mines for the shades.
Do any of you have to constantly remind yourself what day of the week it is? It's horrible. Yikes. Okay, I think it's Wednesday. Tomorrow Joe has a 1/2 day. Friday, Ben will go to work at Nerd Tap from 3-5 and receive Service Hours for this. I'll let you know how that goes. Jessica is home from Vegas and she started school today. Dave is busy installing blinds today. Our new worker keeps in contact with us and is excited to start with us in March.
Have a great day!!!
Ha....Karl and I can definitely relate to this. I think we're in the same tax bracket. Bahhhaaahhhh.
