Week One Ends - Day of Rest (from exercise that is)

Today is Sunday, January 24, 2016.  We have fellowship in less than an hour.  Then I need to help Ben with homework.  He has to do a collage on "The Red Badge of Courage."

Required by all students:
Use a half sheet of poster board to create a collage that depicts the central question/enduring issue. Both words and pictures should be used. Must be creative in use of the entire half sheet of poster board.
Self-discovery: What Henry learns, and whether he actually learns from his experiences is a point that is still debated.
Fear:  Crane himself called the novel a “psychological portrayal of fear.”

I've never read the book, but we are going to tackle the collage from the "fear" aspect.

Then I have grocery shopping to do so I am prepared for the week.  I was feeling a bit caught up yesterday and talked to Mom, Mary, and Laura - just for fun.  I was looking forward to an evening of light reading, but when I returned from the store - this is what I found.

We call this a jail break!
Apparently postage stamps taste good!
Trash was strewn around the house; my desk was trashed, my rolls of postage stamps were stuck to his paws.  Hmmmmmmmm.  This is a 5 or 6 year old dog y'all - not a puppy.  From now on, he's locked outside whenever we leave.

I had fun cleaning all that on and then making supper and then we sat down to talk Alaska.  We decided to bite the bullet and book the helicopter ride to the glacier where you are then taken on a dog sled adventure.  The reviews are remarkable; the price tag - not so much.   That's the only excursion we have booked so far; although a ATV rental through dirt and mud is calling our name also.

Ben's work on Friday went great.  They uninstalled a security program on a computer and then installed a new one.  Fairly simple stuff in his mind.  He was blown away that someone paid $80.00 for that.  I told him when I have a computer problem and I'm stuck I will PAY for it to be fixed and to be fixed soon.  He did something else with a computer too, I just can't remember.  He seems to be really enjoying that.

Dave took Joe to KFC's on Saturday.  We still have three window cleaning accounts.  This was our first business we started when we moved here.  He's teaching Joe how to do it and Joe can earn the money.  There are two KFCs that pay $65.00 each and they want them cleaned twice a month and one Bostons - once a month for $150.00.  $410.00 a month for three Saturdays work.  It should take him 3 hours a Saturday at first.

Joe learning the business!

I'm sure there is a lot more on my mind, but I'm feeling pressured to get ready for fellowship.  So ta ta for now!  Laura, Ramona, Karl and family - have a great time in Hawaii.
