6th Grade Registration

Early this morning (3am) I woke up so I could drive Jessica to the Montrose Airport for her trip to New Jersey/New York. We got to the airport at like 4:45 a.m. for a 6:00 a.m. flight. WAY early for the small little airport. The pilot and his crew strolled into the airport at 5:40 a.m. I was like really - 5:40 a.m. Nevertheless that plane was taking off by 6:00 a.m. She made it safely to NJ on time, met Ramona - then Angie picked them up and they were off. They went to see Wicked that night.

I drove home to Grand Junction. Jessica had made it to Denver before I had even made it back to Grand Junction. I drove straight to Bookcliff Middle School where I will be working to register Joe for 6th grade. When I was in 6th grade it was still part of elementary school. My teacher was Mr. Burdette and he was probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. Years after I had been his student, he came to my swim meets, he came to dad's funeral. Just a great man. I couldn't even tell you who my 5th grade teacher was, but my 6th grade teacher, Mr. Burdette made a great impression on me.

The above photo is of Joe and his 5th grade teacher Mrs. Broughton. School begins August 24 - the day I am writing about is August 10th. Only 14 more days. I like the job I have because I get all the school holidays off and there is at least one to look forward to each month.

We had fellowship last night and CD taught from The Way Magazine article about climbing high to seek truth - the Zacchaeus record. She did a great job. We had a pretty full house too. That was nice. Still -9.5 on the 17 day diet and I'm on day 11.
